Another wheelie great year with dinner cycles, picnic cycles, mystery cycles, and more!!! Most events this year are totally suitable to young/beginner cyclists – we tend to plan the festival so our son can do the whole thing!

THURSDAY 8TH JUNE 2023

8pm Opening night: join us at 8pm @ the Bike Circus for the annual ‘Blessing of the bikes’ ceremony and a lap of the town to celebrate the start of the 12th bike fest! Followed by a live Jukebox & nibbles in the yard.

Fri 9th June 2023

8:30am Cycle-to-school! – We want to encourage anyone who lives in Clon to cycle to school today – in your own family group, with some friends or get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to help marshal and plan your best route! Schools can also get in touch with us to help & plan meeting points. Email [email protected] and share photos on ClonBikeFest social media!

2pm – a musical lap of the town – be part of a bicycle orchestra! Meet at Emmet square at 2pm.

7pm – Sunset Bird Watch Cycle (10km) – Meet Emmet Square with Nicholas from Bird watch Ireland, 7km loop. Bring your binoculars!

Sat 10th June 2023

10 – 12pm – Family morning at Croppy park with games and bikey-craic for kids!

1pm – Pop-up Picnic Cycle (15 km) meet at Emmet Square – a leisurely afternoon cycle into the woods to enjoy a concert and picnic with food by chef Caitlin Ruth & music by members of the Vespertine Quintet. Bring a picnic blanket! ***Preorders essential for picnic €20 per person. Cash bookings at Cafe on the Lane (Spillers Lane) or email [email protected] include your choice of Omnivore, Vegetarian or No Added-Gluten picnic) Kids and those with other dietary restrictions are welcome to BYO picnic.

8pm – The Big Bike Open Mic @ the Green Dot Cafe – an evening of bicycle sharing with cycle adventurers, campaigners and builders! Share your love of the humble bicycle in any format you choose – and be inspired to write your very own Biku-Haiku! An evening to share ideas, collaborate and envision a more cycle friendly future. With special guests Dr. Damien O’Tuama (national cycling coordinator) and Dr. Paul Deane (Energy Researcher). Enter by the back entrance of the cafe if you have a bike!

Sun 11th June 2023

10:30am – 12pm – Stop Look Listen cycle (5km) – meet at Emmet square and cycle a lap of the town before heading to Bennets fields to listen to music curated by Justin Grounds as part of this ongoing series.

12pm Kidical Mass Cycle – meet at Emmet Square for a kiddie-friendly lap of the town – make sure you have a bell!

3pm – Historical River Cycle – meet at Emmet Square – a 6km cycle to explore the health & history of the Feagle! In partnership with Dúchas Clonakilty & Clochán Uisce this will be a super interesting and immersive event to get to know our river – not to be missed!

7pm – The Curry cycle to bike-oke – meet at emmet square, let’s do a big lap of the town and head to a secret location to feast on curry & gear up for bikeoke! Book by emailing [email protected] – €10.

8:30pm – End of Festival Bike Festival bikeoke pedal powered music extravaganza hosted by DeBarras.
